Fifth Grade Teacher

 I am proud to be a Winston Wildcat!

     As a native of this area, I attended Eastside and Burnett Elementary, Stewart Middle, and Douglas County High School.  I received my degrees in Early Childhood Education and Physical Education from La Grange College, and have worked in various areas of education for nearly 20 years.  I have taught 16 years as a classroom teacher, worked as Gifted coordinator for two years, and served as a Director of Children's Ministries at a large church for five years.

     I was also a stay at home mom for ten years.  My son and daughter are now in their twenties, and I love spending time with them although they no longer live at home.  I also enjoy reading, writing, traveling, shopping, and SEC football season.  Roll Tide!

     As a teacher, I maintain consistently high and clear expectations for my students.  I wholeheartedly believe that with encouragement, right access to materials, and support, all children can develop into lifelong readers, writers and learners.
