Winston is proud to offer the 21st Century CCLC After School Program STAR GRANT to the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students .   Students are recommended by their teacher and must meet  criteria in order to be accepted to participate. Students will be re-evaluated each year to determine participation status in the program.  This Program is by invitation only and spaces are limited.

 The 21st Century Program is Monday-Thursday from 2:30 to 5:00 PM, and on Fridays from 2:30 to 4:45.  We are asking all parents for their continued support by ensuring that your child attends the program every day whether virtual or face-to-face. Transportation will be provided home each afternoon when school returns to face-to-face instruction. Student who are in the program but who have elected to have School Based Digital Learning, even when Douglas County schools return to a face to face instruction model, will need provide their own transportation to be brought to school by 3:00 pm in order to participate. Bus transportation will be provided to all who live with in the WES district.

Students are involved in numerous activities throughout the week; which include  blocks of academic enrichment instruction in Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science  PE, and Reading. They also participate in enrichment activities which include PE, Cooking, Life Skills, Music, Art activities and Science Experiments.  

Parents of these students are required to attend at least 3 parent meetings during the school year. These meetings can include 21st Century Parent Meetings, 21st Century Parent /Student Activities, PTO meetings, Teacher/Parent conferences, School Events, scheduled Parent Informational Meetings, and special Student Performances.

*Just a reminder that if you have transportation changes please send in a note or fax 770-651– 4703 to the office.  If it is an unexpected change calls must be made BEFORE 1:30 pm.
