MUSIC DIGITAL LEARNING DAYS

Choose one or more music activities from the following music list. You will share what you did once you return to Music class.

1. If you have a musical instrument at your home, spend some time playing it. Ask permission from your parents if this is alright to do. Think about how the instrument makes sound. Ask whoever the instrument belongs to if they can play some songs for you and possibly teach you a song.

2. Look around your home for materials you could use to make your own instrument and make one! Bring it to school to share with your class. What instrument family does your instrument belong to?

3. Make a drawing of your favorite instrument. Why is it your favorite instrument? What instrument family does your instrument belong to?

4. Think of your favorite activity in Music class and draw a picture illustrating that.

5. Make a staff and try to compose (make) a melody, using different rhythms and notes on the staff. Review your hand-staff to help you remember.

6. (3rd-5th grade) Log on to Quaver and explore some activities.

7. (4th & 5th grade) If you have your own recorder, locate it and try to play through Hot Cross Buns and other songs you remember. If you have your own copy of the Recorder Karate book, look at the next song and try to teach yourself how to play it. Use the front of the book for fingering charts.

Mrs. Vann, Counselor

Hello from Mrs. Vann!  I’m super proud of all your hard work and perseverance this week. Please feel free to email me  at [email protected] if you need anything or just want to say “hello”! Can’t wait to see you all!  Stay focused and remember you got this……I miss and LOVE YOU ALL BIG!!

I know this is a challenging time for everyone, BUT remember to choose KINDNESS  & BE HAPPYin all that you do regardless of the current situation.

Pick one act of kindness for each day. After completing the act of kindness, have a conversation with your parent and/or someone from your family/home about what you chose to do and how it made you feel.                                                                       Example:  Help with the dishes or help with dinner.

In addition, start a gratitude journal. Each day, write down one thing you are THANKFUL for in your life. It only needs to be one sentence. Students in Kindergarten and first grade can illustrate what they are thankful for.
Example: Today I am thankful for my family. REMEMBER there is ALWAYS SOMETHING TO BE THANKFUL FOR EACH DAY!  Love you all!!
